Jeff Meyer is the Director of Industrial Solutions at Decatur Industrial Electric. He has been with the company for 13 years.  However, he has been in the motor repair business for nearly 40 years; starting as a driver, utility technician, sales, asset management program director, and now at his current position.

I enjoy reviewing different situations and opportunities and bringing together all the assets that Decatur Industrial Electric has for solving and increasing end-users life cycle with their electro-mechanical equipment.”

When not at work (which isn’t often!) Jeff enjoys antiquing with his wife, Mary, and working on the family farm in Iowa.  Jeff’s office at work is decorated with antiques such as John Wayne memorabilia, Abraham Lincoln items, and Goofy (Walt Disney) items.

Today we are spotlighting Landon Baine, who was just recently promoted to  Customer Service and Logistics Manager.  Landon is a Decatur native and has been with Decatur Industrial for over 14 years. Landon is responsible for the performance of the inside sales customer service and logistics’ team members.  

“I enjoy that it’s high energy and always having to be on my toes; often juggling numerous tasks and determining how to accomplish everything in the time given.”

When not at work, Landon enjoys hanging out with his wife and 2 teen daughters. He also enjoys listening to music while surfing favorite tech websites, listening to podcasts (topics he prefers are technology, cultural/political, and health/mindfulness), and reading fiction books (averaging 1 per week!). You can also find Landon at the gym a few days a week. 

I’m sure the first thing you are wondering is “What is an A.M.P Specialist?” Terry oversees our asset management program for customers, meaning their equipment that is stored and maintained at our facility.

Born and raised in Decatur, Terry has been a member of our team for over a decade. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Millikin University and previously worked for Morgan Products, LTD.

Terry does a fantastic job assisting our customers not only with the AMP program but also with new motor sales.

Outside of work Terry enjoys playing musical instruments, collecting and restoring sports cars, boating, skiing, boat racing and ice boating.

This month we introduce you to Andrew!  

He has been with Decatur Industrial Electric since 2011. He started out as a parts washer, then worked with field services. Now, he balances approximately 90% of the equipment for the shop.
He feels good knowing the company entrusts him with one of the most critical aspects of ensuring a motor runs correctly in service.

Andrew and his wife have three boys. When he isn’t at work he enjoys spending time with his family and doing constructive/creative things such as remodeling his home.

“Even with certain rules and constraints of each job, I can still find ways to take artistic license and really put my mark on a job.” – Brian 

Brian has been with D.I.E. since June of 2014. Another aspect of his job he enjoys is mentoring newer employees. When he isn’t at work, Brian spends much of his free time with his four grand-kids.

Fun Fact: Brian and his wife have quite the collection of animals! The “Buchanan Zoo” has 20 zebra and society finches, three dogs, two cats, a guinea pig and  hamster.
