General Laborer/Utility

Pay: Starting at $21/hour. Easy application!

Weekend Shift and First Shift Available (Priority will be given based on experience)
Weekend: 5Work 36 hours and get paid for 40! We are looking for someone to perform electric motor disassembly and pressure washing on our weekend shift. 5:00 AM to 5:30 PM Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Weekend pay premium means you work 36 hours but it’s the equivalent of working 40!

Day Shift: 7 AM to 3:30 Monday-Friday

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $21.00 per hour

  • Healthcare: medical, dental, vision
  • Paid time off
  • Union position (IBEW Local 146)
  • 7 paid holidays

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment
  • Willingness to “get dirty”
  • Punctual and professional attitude
  • Willingness to do tasks requested which can vary week to week
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods
  • Perform all work as directed by weekend supervisor or leadership personnel
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bring your passion and previous industrial experience and we can teach you the rest.
  • Experience in industrial workplaces a plus.
  • Forklift and plant maintenance experience preferred
  • Knowledge/experience in electric motors preferred
  • Reliable transportation
  • Safety conscious

Part-Time Accounts Payable Position (Temporary)

Employee Spotlight: Dan Lang

Meet Dan Lang, Quality and Engineering Manager.  Dan is responsible for quality of repair, customer specifications, QA process and procedures, technical data, training and Account Manager support.

Dan Lang

Dan has been in the motor business since 1973, working at General Electric, Westinghouse, Eastern Electric and DMS Electric. Dan came to Decatur Industrial Electric five years ago, and is a member of the company’s leadership team. 

When asked what his favorite part of the job was, Dan responded: “It’s satisfying to put a plan together and watch employees apply their knowledge to produce a professional and functional product.”

When not at work, Dan likes to camp, spend time in the woods, canoe, fish, and “tinker” around with things.

Hiring: Part-Time Warehouse Clerk and Delivery Driver

$17-19.00 an hour.

We are looking for a warehouse clerk to help with routine day to day responsibilities in our warehouse. Some delivery driving will also be a must. A CDL license B is a required. You will represent our company in a professional and cost-effective manner to increase our profitability and customer satisfaction.

Only “on-call” one every six nights & one weekend every six weekends.

Approximately 25 hours a week. DAY SHIFT

CDL B

Responsibilities

  • Help out with daily routine jobs in the warehouse, general warehouse duties
  • Inventory processing
  • Deliver equipment to different customers and load and unload equipment
  • Follow routes and time schedule
  • Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate a vehicle (Internationals, Freightliner, and Trucks)
  • Complete logs and reports
  • Follow DOT regulations and safety standards
  • On call one every six nights and one weekend every six weekends

Skills

  • Proven working experience as a Delivery Driver
  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds
  • Valid Class B license preferred. (If you have a Class C we can work with you to get your Class B.)
  • Ability to operate forklifts and tractors in a variety of weather and traffic conditions
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Good driving record
  • Ability to pass a drug test and background check

There will be some days where you are in our warehouse and not driving.

  • Required: Valid Class B license.
  • Be Home Every Night!
  • Scheduled “on-call” required – average 7 days per month.
